Danielle Fishel Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Danielle Fishel, known for her role as Topanga on 'Boy Meets World', announced her diagnosis of breast cancer during the Aug. 19 episode of her podcast 'Pod Meets World'. She revealed that she has high-grade ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), a very early form of breast cancer, and emphasized the importance of early detection, stating it was caught at stage zero thanks to her regular mammogram. Fishel plans to undergo surgery to remove the cancer and expressed her hope that sharing her story will encourage others to prioritize their health screenings. Initially hesitant to disclose her diagnosis, she chose to go public after being inspired by author Glennon Doyle's message about women supporting each other. Co-hosts Rider Strong and Will Friedle showed their support during the podcast, assuring her of their backing. Fishel shares two children with her husband, Jensen Karp, and remains optimistic about her recovery.
