Unlike M3GAN's PG-13 playful horror, SOULM8TE explores a darker, more mature narrative akin to 'Fatal Attraction but with robots,' focusing on a grieving man who purchases an AI android to cope with his wife's death, which turns into a deadly romance. Directed by Kate Dolan and starring Lily Sullivan as the android and David Rysdahl as the man, the film delves into themes of obsession, dependence, and emotional vulnerability, highlighting the disturbing potential of AI technology adapted for adult desires. The movie is described as having a darker sense of humor than M3GAN, with a unique identity distinct from the original franchise.
