Newcastle Defender Dan Burn Awarded Freedom of Northumberland

Dan Burn, Newcastle United's towering defender and Carabao Cup hero, has been awarded the Freedom of Northumberland, the county's highest honour, in recognition of both his football achievements and community contributions. Born and raised in Blyth, Burn has overcome early setbacks, including being released by Newcastle’s Academy at age 11, to establish himself as a key player at Newcastle United and earn his first England cap in March. The award ceremony at County Hall in Morpeth saw Burn receive an ornate scroll, medal, and a tie decorated with the Northumberland flag, highlighting his status as a 'true Northumbrian' and a local legend.
