Long Island nail salon crash

Several incidents involving driving while intoxicated (DWI) have occurred in New York recently. In Greenport, Max Chay Tojil, 36, was arrested after a single-vehicle crash, and Jose Giron Pacheco, 33, was apprehended after crashing into two parked cars and attempting to flee the scene. More tragically, in Deer Park, an off-duty NYPD officer, Emilia Rennhack, and three others died when Steven Schwally, 64, allegedly drove a Chevy Traverse into a nail salon while intoxicated, also injuring nine others. Schwally was arrested on suspicion of DWI, with witnesses indicating he was speeding through a parking lot before the crash. These incidents highlight ongoing issues with impaired driving and its severe consequences.
