Maryland Woman Charged in Fatal Apartment Fire

Dana Hunt, 43, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and arson following a fatal apartment fire in Towson, Maryland, on August 26. The blaze, which erupted shortly after midnight at the Loch Raven Village Apartments, claimed the life of Lorenzo Rene Trejo Coreas, 43, who succumbed to injuries after being rescued by fire crews. In addition to Trejo, four others, including three children, were injured in the incident, with some requiring hospitalization. Firefighters discovered flames emanating from the second floor and worked to rescue those trapped inside. Investigations by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Maryland State Fire Marshal are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire, while residents have been displaced due to significant damage. Hunt is currently held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
