Three-Car Brooklyn Crash Injures Two NYPD Officers, Two Passengers
A multi-vehicle crash occurred early Sunday morning in Brooklyn at the intersection of Coney Island Avenue and Avenue U, involving a 24-year-old driver of a 2024 Chevrolet Suburban, a 34-year-old woman driving a 2024 Volvo XC90, and a marked NYPD police car. The intoxicated Suburban driver collided with the Volvo, which was then pushed into the path of the police cruiser, resulting in a three-car collision. Two NYPD officers sustained serious injuries, including broken bones and head trauma, and were hospitalized in critical but stable condition. Two passengers from the Suburban were also injured, one critically but later stabilized, while the other suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Suburban was taken into custody with charges pending, and authorities continue to investigate the incident. The Volvo driver and her husband declined medical attention at the scene.
