Dodge Unveils 2026 Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak With Extensive Customization
Stellantis has unveiled the 2026 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak, a three-row muscle SUV powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engine delivering 710 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque, with over 6 million customization combinations available. All 2026 Dodge Durango models now come standard with a V8 engine, including the GT trim with a 5.7L V8, the R/T with a 6.4L V8, and the Hellcat Jailbreak at the top, marking a shift as the Durango becomes the only Dodge model still offering these engines following their removal from Charger and Challenger. The Durango's sales have surged significantly, with Dodge CEO Matt McAlear emphasizing the brand's commitment to "affordable performance" by standardizing V8 power across the lineup. Customization options for the Hellcat Jailbreak include six exterior colors, multiple wheel and brake color choices, dual-stripe designs, interior colors, and additional features like a power sunroof and advanced safety technology. This move is part of a broader eight-cylinder revival within Stellantis' American brands, contrasting with competitors like GM, which offer smaller turbocharged engines. Dodge began taking orders for the 2026 Durango this August, with deliveries expected in the fourth quarter, while continuing to sell a non-Jailbreak Durango SRT Hellcat as well.
