Multiple Hiker Searches Ongoing Himalayas, Pikes Peak, Arizona

Samuel Vengrinovich, a 44-year-old Bay Area native who had been missing for nine days after embarking on a glacial hike on Mount Triund near Dharamsala, India, has been found alive in what his family calls a miracle. Despite being ill-equipped for the harsh conditions, Vengrinovich survived and is now facing significant medical care and hospitalization, with his family raising funds for his treatment and to cover search-and-rescue expenses. Vengrinovich, who has lived in Israel for several years and was vacationing in India, was last heard from before his hike and had only a day’s worth of food with him. Meanwhile, searches continue in the U.S. for other missing hikers, including 55-year-old Russell Hardy in El Paso County, Colorado, who disappeared after a planned hike on Pikes Peak, and 32-year-old Janelle Banda near the "Edge of the World" campsite between Flagstaff and Sedona, Arizona. Both local sheriff’s offices are actively conducting search operations and seeking public assistance for any information regarding their whereabouts.
