Marriott Opens 500th Hotel in Caribbean-Latin America

Marriott International has celebrated the opening of its 500th property in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA), The Almare, a Luxury Collection Resort located in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. This milestone highlights Marriott's significant growth in the region, where its portfolio has expanded from 300 to 500 properties in just three years, with approximately 10% of its global luxury offerings now situated in CALA. The Almare is an adult all-inclusive resort featuring 109 suites with ocean views, seven dining venues, and a spa, marking Marriott's first luxury all-inclusive property in Mexico. The company plans to continue this momentum with additional luxury all-inclusive resorts set to open in the region, such as Paraiso de la Bonita in 2025. Brian King, President of CALA, emphasized that this expansion reflects Marriott's dedication to catering to discerning travelers. The Almare resort also participates in the Marriott Bonvoy travel program, enabling members to earn and redeem points.
