The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is rolling out a digital option for temple recommends, allowing members to carry their recommend cards on mobile phones or tablets via the Member Tools app. This phased global rollout began in select regions, with Utah, Europe, and the eastern U.S. set to gain access by May 29, while other areas like South America, Africa, and Asia will follow. Members can choose between a paper or mobile recommend but may not hold both simultaneously, and switching to a mobile recommend requires current approval from priesthood leaders and a renewal if leadership has changed. The digital recommend can be scanned at any temple worldwide without requiring internet access at the point of entry, though screenshots are not accepted.
