A mudslide on Colorado Highway 82 south of Glenwood Springs has closed the road indefinitely, affecting a three- to four-foot-deep stretch of debris over 3/4 of a mile. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is working to clear the area and has established a detour via County Road 154. All vehicles caught in the slide have been recovered without any reported injuries. Crews are utilizing multiple machines to remove the debris, with the goal to reopen the highway by noon on Monday. Additionally, heavy rainfall over the weekend caused mudslides on Colorado River Road, which also turned the river red due to sediment runoff.
