Lauren, Jrue Holiday Join Courage Ownership Group

Lauren Holiday, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and World Cup champion, and her husband, NBA star Jrue Holiday, have joined the ownership group of the North Carolina Courage in the National Women's Soccer League through their Holiday Family Trust. Lauren Holiday will serve as an advisor and ambassador for the club, focusing on player development and club culture, and will hold a substantial ownership stake among the club's top five investors. Her investment is exclusive to the Courage and comes after previously serving on the board of Mercury 13 and unsuccessful bids to acquire other NWSL teams. The Courage's ownership group also includes prominent sports figures Naomi Osaka and Ons Jabeur. Holiday, who overcame a life-threatening brain tumor after her soccer retirement, is recognized for her advocacy and community impact, reflected in the NWSL's annual Lauren Holiday Impact Award. The Holidays' involvement is expected to strengthen the Courage's mission of empowering athletes and building a sustainable future for women's soccer.
