Marvel Swimsuit Special Sparks Game Collaboration

Marvel is bringing back its Swimsuit Special comic after a 30-year hiatus, with Marvel Swimsuit Special: Friends, Foes & Rivals #1 launching on July 9, 2025. The revival coincides with a major cross-media collaboration, as the hit game Marvel Rivals will introduce swimsuit-themed skins inspired by the comic’s new designs. Confirmed characters set to receive summer skins include Iron Man, Black Widow, Spider-Man, Psylocke, Black Panther, Emma Frost, Squirrel Girl, and The Thing, with more likely as the game's roster grows. The comic features a satirical story led by Janet Van Dyne (the Wasp) as a fashion designer, alongside classic pin-up art from top talent. Marvel Rivals, now boasting over 40 million players, continues to expand with regular content updates. Further details on additional characters and in-game skin releases are expected closer to launch.
