Crystal Palace Plans Marc Guehi Sale Amid Contract Uncertainty

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has confirmed that the club is likely to sell captain Marc Guehi during the current transfer window, given that Guehi has only one year left on his contract and has shown no intention of signing a new deal. Parish emphasized that allowing a player of Guehi's caliber to leave for free next summer would be problematic for the club financially. Liverpool are considered frontrunners for Guehi's signature, but there is a gap between Palace's valuation—reportedly between £40m and £60m—and what Liverpool are willing to pay, especially given the player's contract situation. Other Premier League clubs, including Newcastle and Tottenham, have previously had significant bids rejected by Palace. Parish highlighted the club's need to balance squad strength with financial realities, noting that trading players is an inevitable part of football business. Besides Guehi, other Palace stars such as Eberechi Eze are also attracting interest in the transfer market.
