Chelsea Host Man City in 2025-26 WSL Opener

The 2025-26 Women's Super League season will open on the weekend of September 5-7, with Chelsea hosting Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. Newly promoted and independently owned London City Lionesses will debut in the top flight against European champions Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Liverpool will host Everton in a Merseyside derby at Anfield, while Manchester United face Leicester City and Tottenham play West Ham in the opening round. Chelsea, managed by Sonia Bompastor, aim to defend their title after an unbeaten season and pursue a quadruple. The season will feature expanded TV coverage on Sky Sports and the BBC, as well as a schedule designed to reduce clashes with international and Champions League games. This will be the last season with 12 teams before the WSL expands to 14, with a new promotion and relegation playoff introduced.
