Reddit is strategically pivoting to become a full-fledged search engine, integrating its AI-powered Reddit Answers with its native search to create a more intelligent and user-centric search experience. CEO Steve Huffman emphasized that Reddit aims to leverage its vast database of real user discussions and human experiences to provide reliable, nuanced answers, positioning itself as a trusted alternative amid growing concerns over AI-generated content quality on traditional search engines. The platform's search features already attract over 70 million weekly users, and Reddit Answers has rapidly grown to 6 million weekly active users.
