Husband, Woman Charged in Murder of Fort Campbell Soldier

Two individuals have been charged in connection with the murder of Katia Duenas Aguilar, a 23-year-old Fort Campbell soldier found dead with nearly 70 stab wounds in May 2024. Sofia Rodas, 35, faces charges of first-degree murder and tampering with evidence, while Aguilar's husband, Reynaldo Salinas Cruz, 40, is charged with tampering with evidence. Both suspects were already in federal custody on unrelated charges when the indictments were issued by a Montgomery County Grand Jury. The autopsy revealed that Aguilar died from sharp-force injuries, predominantly to her neck, and her death was ruled a homicide. The case highlights collaboration between local law enforcement and military authorities as the investigation continues. The suspects have been extradited to Clarksville and await prosecution.
