Fort Point, HenHouse Form 4th Largest Craft Brewery

San Francisco’s Fort Point Beer Co. and Santa Rosa’s HenHouse Brewing Co. have merged to form Fort Point HenHouse, becoming the fourth-largest craft brewery in Northern California with a combined output adjusted accordingly. The merger allows both breweries to maintain their distinct identities and taprooms while sharing resources and production facilities to enhance their sustainability in a challenging market. This move reflects a trend in the craft beer industry where smaller breweries are consolidating to strengthen their market presence. Despite the merger, both brands will continue to operate independently, preserving their unique offerings and customer relationships. The American craft beer industry faced challenges in 2024, with a 4% production decline, yet saw a 3% increase in retail dollar value due to price adjustments. Similarly, Left Hand Brewing and Dry Dock Brewing also merged to stabilize production schedules and expand market reach.
