Archer Aviation Plans Air Taxi Network in Los Angeles

Archer Aviation plans to launch an air mobility network in Los Angeles by 2026, utilizing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to alleviate the city's notorious traffic congestion. The network will include vertiports at key locations such as Los Angeles International Airport, USC, Santa Monica, Hollywood Burbank, and SoFi Stadium. This initiative aims to provide quick air taxi rides for commuters, turning hours-long car journeys into 10-20 minute flights. The project, which also involves partnerships with major airlines like United and Southwest, comes ahead of significant events like the 2026 World Cup and 2028 Olympics. Archer has received FAA clearance for test flights and plans to leverage existing infrastructure to expedite the launch. The company's flagship Midnight eVTOL aircraft will play a central role in this new urban air mobility solution.
