PWHL Expands Schedule; World Girls' Hockey Weekend
The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) has announced its expanded 30-game schedule for the 2024-25 season, marking an increase from the previous season's 24 games. The season will commence on November 30 with a double-header featuring the Boston Fleet at Toronto Sceptres and Ottawa Charge at Montreal Victoire, while the New York Sirens, now relocated to the New Jersey Devils' arena, will start their season on December 1 against the defending champions, Minnesota Frost. The league's schedule includes 14 neutral-site games and three international breaks for national team commitments. Meanwhile, the IIHF will host its World Girls' Hockey Weekend on October 11-13 to celebrate and promote women's hockey globally. The New York Sirens, aiming for a stronger performance after finishing last season at the bottom, are optimistic about the upcoming season under new leadership.
