Charlene White Criticised Over Not Wearing Poppy

Loose Women presenter Charlene White was criticised online after appearing on the ITV show without a poppy while co-hosts Oti Mabuse, Judi Love and Kelle Bryan wore one. White said she does wear a poppy off‑screen, supports and donates to the Royal British Legion, and cites broadcasting impartiality rules on charities for not wearing one on air. She revealed she is grieving her father, an RAF veteran who took his own life, and said the backlash has included sustained hate, vitriol and racist abuse. The Royal British Legion has backed her personal choice, and while many viewers criticised her decision others defended her right to observe Remembrance in private and condemned the abuse directed at her.
