Modi to Visit Singapore Following ISMR Meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Singapore following a high-level meeting between senior ministers from India and Singapore, which aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation. Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan described the meeting as productive and emphasized the significant opportunities in these sectors, particularly for India's expanding semiconductor industry. Additionally, India's recent orders for over 1,000 aircraft highlight a burgeoning aviation sector that presents further collaboration avenues in maintenance and operations. This meeting marks the second India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable, initiated in September 2022, and sets the stage for Modi's upcoming visit on September 5. Singapore remains India's largest trade partner in ASEAN, with substantial foreign direct investment inflows, reinforcing the importance of this partnership.
