The Netflix series 'Unsolved Mysteries' is set to feature a chilling cold case from Economy Borough, Pennsylvania, involving the 2014 discovery of an embalmed woman's severed head. Police Chief Michael O'Brien hopes the renewed national focus will aid in identifying the Jane Doe and uncovering the circumstances surrounding her death. The episode, titled 'The Severed Head', reveals that the head was well-preserved, likely belonging to a woman aged 60 to 80, and was found with missing eyes replaced by red rubber balls, suggesting a professional dismemberment. Executive producer Terry Dunn Meurer described the case as one of the most bizarre she has encountered in over 1,300 cases, emphasizing the mystery of the missing body and the potential involvement of body parts trading. Efforts to investigate have included seeking satellite images for clues, but the woman's identity and cause of death remain unsolved. The episode premieres as part of 'Unsolved Mysteries: Volume 4' on Wednesday.
