Two Men Killed Crossing Interstates 80, 225 in Utah, Colorado
Two fatal pedestrian accidents occurred on interstate highways in Utah and Colorado over a weekend. In Summit County, Utah, 28-year-old Joel Sotelo Cabrera was killed after he exited his vehicle near a construction zone and attempted to cross eastbound I-80, where he was hit by a pickup truck; impairment is suspected, and the truck driver remained on scene cooperating with authorities. Separately, in Aurora, Colorado, a 62-year-old man was struck and run over by two vehicles while crossing northbound I-225 during heavy traffic; both drivers stayed at the scene and police do not suspect alcohol or speeding as factors. Both victims were transported to hospitals but were pronounced dead. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing, with Utah authorities focusing on suspected impairment and Colorado authorities ruling out speed and alcohol as contributing factors.
