Illinois Man Dies in Utah Paragliding Accident

A 68-year-old man from Paramus, New Jersey, tragically died following a 30-foot fall while hiking the Devils Garden Trail in Arches National Park, Utah. National Park rangers attempted CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, prompting an investigation by the Grand County Sheriff’s Department and the National Park Service. In a separate incident, 56-year-old David Gest from New Lenox, Illinois, died after crashing while paragliding at Flight Park State Recreation Area in Utah County. Gest lost control of his paraglider around 10:20 a.m. and was airlifted to Intermountain Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The cause of both accidents remains under investigation, with local communities mourning the losses of the two men.
