Johnstown-Monroe Coach Kory Ross Charged with Sexual Battery

Kory Ross, a 34-year-old middle school track and wrestling coach for the Johnstown-Monroe School District in Ohio, has been arrested and charged with sexual battery involving a student. Court records indicate that Ross engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with the victim between September 2023 and March 2025, while he was employed at a different district. The superintendent of Johnstown-Monroe confirmed that the alleged incidents occurred prior to Ross's employment and do not involve any students from their district. Ross, who does not hold a teaching license but has a permit to coach, has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. He is currently being held in jail on a $250,000 bond. The Fairfield County Sheriff's Office is urging anyone with further information to come forward.
