Police Recover Explosive Device South Armagh Amid Cross-Border IED Investigation

Police in south Armagh, supported by the Army, have conducted a search of a property on Tassagh Road, Keady, following an ongoing investigation by the Irish police (An Garda Síochána) into the discovery of a number of attempted improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the north-east and south-west of the Republic of Ireland. A man in his 40s was arrested in County Monaghan under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 and remains detained. The search and arrest are linked to recent seizures of explosive devices and a potential connection to a security alert involving a hoax device found in Milford, County Armagh. Police and Gardaí are working closely across the border, and forensic examinations are ongoing on the seized devices and items.
