Venice Debut of Gaza Girl’s Rescue Pleas Film

The film "The Voice of Hind Rajab" premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2025, portraying the final moments of five-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab, who was killed by Israeli forces during an attack in Gaza in January 2024. Directed by Kaouther Ben Hania, the film uses the original audio recordings of Hind's desperate calls for help to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society while trapped in a car after her family was killed. Despite an ambulance being dispatched, it was destroyed, killing two medics, and Hind and her relatives were found dead days later. The film aims to confront the international silence and dehumanizing narratives surrounding the Gaza conflict, highlighting the human cost and the silencing of Palestinian voices.
