Nashville SC has appointed B.J. Callaghan, former assistant coach of the U.S. Men's National Team (USMNT), as its new head coach. Callaghan, who served as interim head coach of the USMNT and led them to a CONCACAF Nations League title, will officially join Nashville on July 22. He replaces Gary Smith, the club's first and only head coach, who was fired in May after a poor start to the season. Callaghan expressed gratitude to USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter and looks forward to new challenges with Nashville. Despite the appointment, some fans expressed frustration that Berhalter, and not Callaghan, is still with the USMNT following their disappointing Copa América performance.
