Vaswani's appointment is part of a wide-ranging leadership change at the bank, which also includes the appointment of Anupam Kaura as chief human resources officer. Kaura has extensive experience in leadership roles across Indian and global banking and finance companies. Uday Kotak, the bank's founder director, stepped down as head of the bank on September 1, 2023, resulting in the appointment of Dipak Gupta as interim MD and CEO. The new leadership team at Kotak is focused on building a 'Global Indian' bank with a strong emphasis on digital banking and customer focus.
