Apple Plans Mass Production of Foldable iPhone, iPad in 2026

Apple is set to enter the foldable smartphone market with plans to begin mass production of a foldable iPhone and iPad Pro by the second half of 2026, according to analyst Jeff Pu from GF Securities. The devices are currently in the New Product Introduction phase at Foxconn, with prototypes expected to be ready by April 2024. The foldable iPhone is anticipated to feature a 7.8-inch main display and a 5.5-inch cover display, while the foldable iPad Pro could sport an 18.8-inch screen. Apple's efforts aim to address the common issue of display creasing found in current foldable devices, utilizing new materials to enhance durability. This launch aligns with a growing market demand for foldable products, despite a predicted slight decline in overall foldable display demand this year.
