Tom Holland, Austin Butler Star in American Speed

Amazon MGM Studios has secured the film 'American Speed,' starring Tom Holland and Austin Butler as racecar-driving brothers. The movie, based on a true story, will focus on the Whittington brothers, two of whom were implicated in the 1980s IMSA scandal involving drug smuggling and money laundering. Charles Roven, known for 'Oppenheimer,' is producing alongside RD Whittington and Douglas Banker, with Dan Wiedenhaupt writing the script. Although a director has not yet been announced, the film is expected to attract significant talent due to the involvement of Atlas Entertainment. Holland is also preparing for 'Spider-Man 4' and a role in Christopher Nolan's upcoming film, while Butler has been busy with multiple projects in 2024. The release date for 'American Speed' has yet to be revealed.
