Northeast Snow Emergency Declared Ahead of Storm

Several cities across the northeastern United States, including Peabody, Massachusetts, and Bridgeport, Connecticut, have declared snow emergencies and implemented parking bans in anticipation of a major winter storm this weekend. The National Weather Service predicts 5 to 8 inches of snow in the region. Additional affected areas include Stevens Point and Plover in Wisconsin, Groton, Guilford, and New London in Connecticut, and Portland, Maine. Vehicles parked in violation of these bans risk being ticketed and towed. In Bridgeport, a snow emergency requires residents to move their vehicles off designated snow streets and adhere to alternate side parking rules. Authorities are urging residents to comply with parking restrictions to facilitate snow removal and maintain access for emergency services.
