Way.com, Stacker Release City Auto Insurance Guides
Way.com's data team analyzed millions of insurer rate filings and ZIP-code averages from public filings to produce city-level auto-insurance price guides distributed by Stacker. The guides list the cheapest liability and full-coverage providers in each city and give sample monthly rates — for example, Direct General in Hattiesburg ($25 liability, $63 full); Cincinnati in Gadsden ($22/$67) and Mobile ($24/$73); Auto-Owners in Johnstown ($11/$57), Lebanon ($10/$53) and Williamsport ($11/$55); American National in Fort Collins ($20/$56); and NYCM in Ithaca ($33/$73). Across sampled cities, advertised liability-only policies generally ranged from about $10 to $33 per month, while low advertised full-coverage offers were roughly $53 to $78 per month. The guides show traffic violations materially raise premiums, with DUIs, hit-and-runs and leaving the scene among the costliest offenses — examples include a Greensboro DUI ($427), Fort Collins leaving the scene ($379), Johnstown leaving the scene ($325), and a Hattiesburg DUI ($292). Readers are advised these rates are for comparison only and to consult the original Way.com guides for full city tables and methodology.
