Russia's Attacks Kill 8, Injure 1 Across Ukraine

Russian forces have intensified their attacks across Ukraine, particularly over the weekend, resulting in civilian casualties and significant damage to infrastructure. In Odesa, drone strikes injured three people, while Dnipropetrovsk Oblast saw attacks that injured at least five and damaged several private properties. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that Russia has conducted nine large-scale attacks on Ukraine's energy system, targeting over 63,000 facilities since 2022, yet Ukraine has managed to restore more than half of the damaged capacities. President Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted the ongoing violence, stating that nearly 2,800 aerial bombs and over 1,400 drones have been launched by Russia since the beginning of April, leading to numerous casualties and injuries. Meanwhile, Russia has accused Ukraine of violating a U.S.-brokered pause on strikes against energy infrastructure by conducting six attacks in the last 24 hours. The situation remains dire as Ukraine prepares for further assaults while seeking international support to counter Russian aggression.
