Dr. S. The district aims to install CCTV cameras for enhanced safety and complete the City Operations Centre as part of its urban transformation efforts. Concurrently, Union Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu announced central government support for developing industrial smart cities in Orvakal and Kopparthy, with significant job creation and investment planned. In terms of overall progress, the Smart Cities Mission has seen Andhra Pradesh cities like Kakinada and Tirupati leading with completed projects worth around ₹2,000 crore each, while Visakhapatnam has completed approximately ₹1,575 crore of its proposed projects. Amaravati is lagging behind with only ₹746 crore of its planned ₹930 crore completed. The combined completion rate of smart city projects across these cities has exceeded 85%.
