Phil Salt led England to an emphatic eight-wicket victory over the West Indies in the first T20I in Barbados, scoring an unbeaten 103 off 54 balls, which included nine fours and six sixes. This marked Salt's third T20I century against the West Indies, setting a record for the most hundreds against a single team in T20Is. England chased the target of 183 with 19 balls to spare, also thanks to Jacob Bethell's unbeaten 58, after Saqib Mahmood's impressive four wickets for 34 runs restricted the West Indies to 182-9. Despite late innings fireworks from Andre Russell and Romario Shepherd, the West Indies couldn't defend their total. The series continues with England aiming to extend their 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Salt expressed his fondness for batting in the Caribbean, where all his T20I centuries have been scored.
