The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has successfully extradited and arrested Tarsem Singh, a key member of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist organization, from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Singh, who is the brother of designated terrorist Lakhbir Singh Landa, was implicated in terror funding and the planning of a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack on the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali in May 2022. He was initially detained in Abu Dhabi after a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against him in June 2023, followed by an Interpol Red Corner Notice. Singh's extradition is seen as a significant victory for Indian authorities in their crackdown on pro-Khalistan terrorist networks operating from abroad. The NIA's ongoing investigation has revealed that Singh was involved in channeling terror funds to associates in India and played a crucial role in supporting operations linked to other banned terrorist organizations. His arrest underscores the efforts to dismantle the funding and operational networks of groups like the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) and the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF).
