U.S. Wins First Team Gold in Women's Foil

At the Paris Olympics, the U.S. women's fencing team achieved historic success, winning their first-ever team gold medal by defeating Italy 45-39. Lee Kiefer, now the first American fencer with three Olympic gold medals, was instrumental in both individual and team events. Lauren Scruggs, who also won a silver medal in the individual event, and Jewish fencers Jackie Dubrovich and Maia Weintraub contributed to the U.S. team's victory. Hungarian fencer Gergely Siklosi led his team to victory over Japan in a tight 26-25 match to claim gold in the men's team epee event. Penn State alumnus Miles Chamley-Watson is set to compete for a team fencing medal with Team USA against Egypt.
