Sony Signs Streaming Deals for Game Shows
Sony Pictures Television has signed multi-year licensing agreements with Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and Peacock to stream next-day and library episodes of 'Jeopardy!' and 'Wheel of Fortune' starting this fall. For the first time, in-season episodes will be available nationwide on-demand, expanding the shows' digital accessibility and targeting younger, cord-cutting audiences. The new streaming deals do not affect the ongoing legal dispute with CBS over syndication rights, with CBS retaining linear distribution during the appeals process. Paramount+ is notably excluded from these arrangements, reflecting competitive dynamics among streaming platforms. Sony executives describe the move as a reaction to evolving viewer habits as traditional TV audiences decline. The new streaming options will coincide with the premieres of 'Jeopardy!' season 42 and 'Wheel of Fortune' season 43 in September.
