Era Ventures has launched its inaugural $88 million venture capital fund, aimed at driving innovation in the built environment. Founded by Clelia Warburg Peters, the fund has received backing from notable institutional investors, including a leading Ivy League endowment, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and Bain Capital Ventures. The firm plans to invest across various stages in seven core business models, such as SaaS, AI, embedded fintech, and hardtech that aim to disrupt traditional processes and optimize physical assets. Notably, Peters is recognized as the first woman to raise an initial fund of this size in the proptech category. Era Ventures intends to capitalize on a market that has been slow to embrace technological advancements, positioning itself to foster fundamental changes in the real estate sector. The firm has already invested in ten companies, including various innovative platforms within the real estate landscape.
