The No. 2 South Carolina women's basketball team opened their 2025-26 season with a dominant 94-54 home victory over Grand Canyon, highlighted by Ta’Niya Latson's 20 points and strong performances from Raven and Tessa Johnson. Prior to the game, the team celebrated their 2024-25 achievements, including SEC regular-season and tournament championships and another Final Four appearance, with a ceremony where players and coaches, including Grand Canyon's head coach Winston Gandy, received commemorative rings.
