Princess Diana letters for sale

A collection of over a dozen handwritten letters and cards from Princess Diana to her former housekeeper, Violet Collison, affectionately known as Collie, is set to be auctioned on July 30. The letters, which provide an intimate glimpse into Diana's life, include thank-you notes for gifts sent to her children, Prince William and Prince Harry, and details about her wedding preparations to Prince Charles. Notable items include a letter written just three weeks before the royal wedding in 1981, where Diana mentions the busy atmosphere and her calmness amidst the chaos. Another letter from September 1984 expresses Diana's gratitude for a gift to Harry and describes William's affection for his little brother. The auction, conducted by Sworders in Essex, is expected to attract significant interest, with estimated values for the letters ranging from £800 to £1,200.
