Murray Hill to Host First Drag King Competition

Murray Hill, a renowned drag king and actor, will host the first-ever drag king reality competition series, 'King of Drag', debuting in Spring 2025 on the LGBTQ+ streaming platform Revry. The six-episode series will showcase eight talented drag kings competing in challenges centered on comedy, unique performances, and discussions on masculinity, aiming to expand the representation of drag in media. The show is set to highlight diverse gender identities, including trans masc, cisgender women, and non-binary performers, while avoiding typical formats seen in other drag competitions like 'RuPaul's Drag Race'. Hill expressed excitement about providing a platform for the drag king community, which has historically been overshadowed by drag queens. Auditions are currently open until January 5, 2025, and the production promises a fresh approach to drag entertainment. Revry's co-founder, Christopher J. Rodriguez, emphasized the ambition behind the show, aiming to deliver new perspectives within the drag genre.
