Boston, Vermont Fires: Rooftop and House Blazes
On Wednesday afternoon, Boston firefighters quickly responded to a rooftop fire at 128 Milk St. in the Financial District, deploying a second alarm and climbing seven stories to contain the blaze, which left the roof heavily damaged. Heavy black smoke was visible across the city, and office workers were evacuated as a precaution. One firefighter was transported to the hospital, but no major injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and crews stayed on site to monitor for hot spots. In a separate incident, firefighters in South Hero, Vermont, battled a house fire that destroyed a garage and severely damaged a nearby home; no injuries occurred as the residence was unoccupied. Both incidents are under investigation.
