Multiple Events Celebrate Women and Girls in STEM Across U.S.

In celebration of International Women's Day, the Big Little Science Centre is hosting a free event called Women in Science Day, featuring interactive science activities and showcases by female scientists to inspire the next generation in STEM fields. Jo-Ann Coggan, the centre operator, emphasized the importance of representation in STEM and aims to demonstrate that women can thrive in these careers. Meanwhile, Colorado State University Spur is providing opportunities for girls and their families to explore STEM careers, with assistant professor Jennifer Bousselot highlighting the benefits of green roofs for urban environments. In Texas, the Woodlands Children’s Museum hosted over 100 local Girl Scouts for a STEM-focused badge workshop, where participants engaged in hands-on activities related to space science. These initiatives collectively aim to empower young girls and foster interest in science and technology across various communities.
