PWHL Unveils Team Names for Second Season

The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) has officially announced team names and logos for its six franchises ahead of the upcoming season. The teams are now known as the Toronto Sceptres, Montréal Victoire, Ottawa Charge, Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, and New York Sirens, each reflecting local culture and heritage. This branding effort comes after the inaugural season, which took place without distinct team identities. Minnesota Frost, the league's first championship team, is under new management following recent investigations into its former general manager and head coach. The PWHL is set to expand its season from 24 to 30 games, with training camps expected to start soon. Executives have expressed that creating these identities was a challenging yet rewarding process, aiming to foster strong connections with fans.
