Willie Simmons Resigns as FAMU Coach

Willie Simmons, head football coach at Florida A&M, has resigned to become the running backs coach at Duke under head coach Manny Diaz. Simmons spent six successful years at Florida A&M, where he achieved a 45-13 overall record, two HBCU National Championships, and earned numerous coaching honors. He expressed aspirations to coach at a Power 5 program to gain a national stage and noted the need for more minority head coaches at the FBS level. Florida A&M has named James Colzie III as interim head coach.
