Two Texas Teens Die in Separate Falls at Oregon, Washington Trails

Two teenagers from Texas tragically died in separate hiking accidents in the Pacific Northwest. A 17-year-old girl died after falling from a broken tree branch on the Soda Creek Falls Trail near Cascadia State Park, Oregon, while hiking with her father. Despite CPR efforts and emergency response, she was pronounced dead at the scene. In a separate incident, 18-year-old Grant Herridge died after slipping and falling over a 50-foot waterfall at Olympic National Park in Washington during a graduation trip. Herridge, a recent high school graduate set to attend Baylor University, was remembered by his school and community as a bright and kind individual, with Baylor establishing a memorial scholarship in his honor.
