Butch Carter Joins Lawsuit Against Indiana University Doctor Over Sexual Abuse Allegations

Carter's testimony reveals that he reported the incident to head coach Bob Knight and other officials, but claims no action was taken to address the allegations, allowing Bomba to continue working with players for years. He is now the fifth former player to allege similar abuse, joining John Flowers, Haris Mujezinovic, Charlie Miller, and Larry Richardson Jr. The lawsuit also names current athletic trainer Tim Garl as a defendant for failing to intervene. The university is contesting the lawsuit on grounds of timeliness and damages restrictions, while Garl maintains that such examinations were not deemed inappropriate at the time. Carter's decision to come forward aims to encourage other victims to share their experiences as part of this ongoing legal battle.
